8) Sikhism- a major religion based on the teachings of the Guru       Nanak 

 

This is important because Sikhism is one of the most important religions of India, and it promotes nonviolence, which is important in the world today.

 

7) Jainism- a religion of nonviolence based on the teachings of        Mahavira

 

Jainism is very important, because just like Sikhism, this religion is very important in India. It provides the rule that one should not own property, which can make people's lives rough. This religion saves them from this pain and makes their life happy. 

 

 

 

6) Hinduism- the largest, major religion of India today

Without Hinduism, many people of India, more than half of it, would have no religion to follow. 

 

 

 

5) Meditation - the focusing of the mind on spiritual ideas

Meditation was the only way Siddhartha could form the religion of Buddhism. Buddhism wouldn't have been created without meditation. 

 

 

 

4) Buddhism- A religion that is based on the Buddha's teachings

Buddhism made many people achieve nirvana, and forget all thieir worries in many different places around the world.

Inoculation paved the way for vaccination to save peoplee from diseases and viruses. It was important because many people and soldiers survived sicknesses through inoculation. 

 

 

 

2) Hindu-Arabic numerals- the numbers that we use today

The Hindu-Arabic Numerals paved the way for modern math. Without this, modern math would not be possible. 

 

 

 

1) polytheistic- the belief in many gods

Without polytheism, there would be only one person who controlled everything in the world. The Indians would not be able to describe the world around them in ways that made sense. They needed polytheism to believe that many gods controlled everyhting around them. 

 

Another 1) Sanskrit - the most important language of ancient India

 

Sanskrit was very important because it paved the way for many languages around the world. It also paved the way for many languages to sprout even in India. Sanskrit was the most important word related to ancient India.
